Welcome to my personal website!
I am an information scientist with a research focus on information management, the facilitation and evaluation of Information Literacy and Technology-Enhanced Learning.
I work as Professor for Digital Business Management at the School of Management at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Austria. Previously, I was with the Department of Information Science and Natural Language Processing at the University of Hildesheim, Germany and the Department of Information Science and Information Systems as well as the Department of Corporate Leadership and Entrepreneurship at the University of Graz, Austria.
I am currently involved in the Erasmus+ project Gender Diversity in Information Science and the workpackage Applied Programmes and Pedagogy Factory of the ACE2-EU European University Alliance. I coordinated the Erasmus+ project Information Literacy Online, were institutions from six European countries teamed up to develop a multilingual MOOC to facilitate Information Literacy. An overview of the project results is available through the Erasmus+ project results platform. I review for several international academic journals, including the International Journal of Information Management, New Media and Society, Online Information Review, Journal of Information Science, Journal of Librarianship & Information Science, and Library Hi Tech.
I currently serve as president of the German Academic Association for Information Science, section editor of the open access journal Open Information Science, and are member of the special interest group on Information Literacy of the German Conference of Degree Programs in Information and Library Science (KIBA).
